If you have no interest in small skateboards
Then today, you're better off scrolling down to the last pic.
However, if you have a son, daughter, niece, nephew, mates with any of the above, really small feet, or simply enjoy our ramblings... read on.
It's a long-pondered and big move for us, what with "Longboard Shop" being in our name.
But with requests in the shop, great support in the wider community, and the belief that being able to ollie immensely enhances one's life, we've pulled the trigger.
Little skateboards for little people are now available at Vandem.
It was an easy choice to jump in with the range from Santa Cruz. They've done the hard work for us - deck sizes scale up gradually, wheels are soft and where we normally personalise bushings on every board, they've done it for us.
The full range includes the following:
Super Micro | |||||
Micro | |||||
Mini | |||||
Mid | |||||
Full | |||||
Large |
And if some of that doesn't mean much to you... don't worry about it! Trust the experts.
The softer wheels mean that these don't have to be taken to the skatepark for the first rides - they'll still roll easily enough on tarmac while they get their balance - but really that's what they're designed for.
I mean, once they've mastered turning left and turning right, all that's left is to turn it up!
And if you're worried about the skatepark, fear not. For better or worse, they aren't necessarily as gritty as you might think.
If that doesn't make it as easy as possible to get going, then I'm all out of ideas.
Remember, there's always the discount code "GREATPARENTING" for 20% off a second complete when two are purchased at once...
So grab a board and enhance a small persons life with the gift of a year-long battle learning to ollie.
I'd say they'll thank you for it, but I haven't thanked my folks. Perhaps it's time I did.
