Randomness -

Happy New Year from Vandem 👊

January sales?

Not really our thing - it seems to me to be a kick in the teeth to anyone who made a Christmas purchase.

It goes against our very nature and intent: to nurture each and every one of you who has bought, ridden or merely considered riding some type of skateboard.

It seems only yesterday that I was sharing a board with the other kids in my street, taking turns to skate round the corner, wobbling a bit, grinning a lot.

I'm so stoked knowing that since Christmas there is a whole new cohort experiencing the same thing.

You really don't need much to get started. 20 years ago I had a Lush Mako and a helmet and apparently, not even any socks. I'm still on a board as often as possible.

If you let it, your new board can be not only a great toy but a way of life - of exercising, socialising and exploring... And long term, it's much cheaper than therapy.

This newsletter is not a weekly sales catalogue, but a tool to keep up to date with the possibilities available to you - events, industry news, product insights, legit new gear, videos and a bit of randomness for good measure.

Here's the full list from 2025 to give you an idea:

Stuck for somewhere to skate in the winter months? It's worth checking out your local multi-story car park.
If security are present, cookies/hot chocolate can go a surprisingly long way to smoothing out any differing opinions on proper use of the space...
