Samba: Worth the Fuss?

With reviews like this...

This isn't a skateboard..
No idea what it is....
It defiantly requires a new category.

Its bang on what is said about the snowboard comparison. Hills I used to carve or unable to due to been too narrow and too steep. I can now smash with this board setup.
When I switched off the thinky part of my brain and went to muscle memory the whole experience changed.
i stopped trying to " skate " it like i would my 45" dancer and got in my snowboard stance.
Next thing I'm past 45° lean with flowing front to backside turns, long and flowing to sharpy snappy mogul type motion. sooooooooo much fun. cant wait to have some proper time out on it.

Absolutely, it has been worth it.

We feel this when we ride, and it is our whole mission to bring that to you and as many of your friends as possible!

The official Samba video is now online and that snowboard comparison does come up again:

The Samba takes me back to the very roots of why I longboard.

Cruising down slopes was to my mind, the whole idea. Bombing hills was counterintuitive - the deeper I could carve, the longer the pleasure lasted!

Although perhaps hypocritical, having then spent 15 years going as fast as I possibly could on a skateboard, that yearning for turning has never really gone away.

These days I do as much of it as I can on a surfboard, and the Samba provides a similar type of joy.

If anyone has any theories on why it feels so damn good to dig deep into a rail and feel a board whipping round underneath you, I would love to hear them.

Perhaps it's something to do with the focus required - how everything else melts away because it has to. A shortcut to a pseudo-meditative state that takes decades to master without the help of a simple plank of wood with wheels...

Not sure.

But what I am sure of is that the new Samba represents the pinnacle of carving on dry land, and I am here for it.

Carving in all its forms is a way to be outside, engage with yourself, with nature and with a community that exists happily - if only temporarily - outside of the stresses of everyday life.

Recommended daily for maximum health benefits.

See you in the lineup - next one's for you,

OMG, this thing is mental .... it will turn 180 easily in the width of a parking space, yet its so stable, the rear is so controllable in a wet drift and I dont know how to slide yet. It is pumpable at low speed, easy to push. I predominantly ride surf skates and have never quite got along with the cow like feeling of a longboard ...... The Samba however ??? ... this is some next level longboarding. ! .... 100% guys .. 100%

Matt (not me) Sambaing almost 20 years ago.
It was already amazing, now it's even better.
For a start, your truck will no longer explode at random intervals! Those Seismic trucks were sketchy but everyone dealt with it, because the carve felt that good.
