Winter is coming
And last weekends storm made a few things clear:
- I need to fix the shed roof
- It's time to think about skateboarding indoors
And as luck would have it, we just received a board that could help with both of those things.

Whether it's a measuring tool or a shred machine, the Schmitt Stix Yard Stick could be just what I need.
Reissued from the 1986 model and even coming from the same factory, I do feel the big "MADE IN U.S.A." on the graphic is somewhat redundant when the whole thing is still in inches...

That thing ^ is 39" long and no longer available, and thus the 36" Yard Stick fills a void in my quiver, and my life.
Big skateboards are great. For anyone who's invested time in any other boardsport, a skateboard is pretty teeny tiny.
Sure, if you're lucky enough to be spending all day riding street and park then it's exactly what you need.
But if you're lucky enough to have more in your life and are no longer chasing the street dream... do yourself a favour and get a bit more size under your feet!
Not only are they more stable and arguably more fun, they'll also make you skate better. You can't fake it with a bigger board - your body has to be moving in the right direction to do what you want to do.
No drawbacks, all benefits.
And at a push, you could use this one to help fix your shed roof.
Available as a deck, cruiser complete with soft wheels, and a park complete with hard ones.
See you on the tools,
Matt @ Vandem

Big tail, small nose, very flat concave.
You can spend all day on this thing, handle every obstacle and hill in your path, and at no point be uncomfortable.
