Carver Skateboards now available at Vandem

*And equal pay.

Double whammy!

And I don't mean Lucy and Tilly, though they do make a formidable force.

No - in a shock occurence, todays post covers two topics. Most important first.

It was International Womens Day this week. Keeping it close to home, whilst we strive to support them every day of the year, it's a great opportunity to shout about how bloody good the Bristol Girls Longboard Crew is!

A skateboard is not a gender-specific toy, and the efforts of Georgia, Danielle and the crew over the last few years has seen the biggest rise in female and non-binary uptake that we can remember. And we're old!

Contact them on instagram if you want to get involved. You'll be welcomed with open arms.

And secondly, we've got a new brand in the shop to build on our growing selection of surfskates:

The original surfskate truck, patented over two decades ago, and still some of the most fun you can have on a really turny skateboard. But don't listen to me, see for yourself:

Don't worry, we won't make you do five press-ups if you want to try one out in the shop.

When brands like Arbor, Loaded and Santa Cruz choose to use these trucks on their own boards, you know they're the real deal.

However, alongside the wider range of board sizes available from Carver themselves, the beauty of this decision is that we now stock the trucks on their own.

Not the cheapest on the market, but worth every penny. Perfect for if you don't fancy any of the current completes - you can throw them under any cruiser that you've got. We've even sold some together with a re-issue deck... Juicy.

Now, that's quite enough of your Friday taken up... Enjoy the weekend, see if you can get some turns in,
Matt @ Vandem

I might just be most excited about the Tyler 777 shape. Super long compared to the others on offer, for a bit more down-the-line speed, long drawn out carves and some cross-steps, if you're brave enough!

After decades of claiming that every week will bring the next big snowstorm to the UK, the Express was finally correct. These prototype snow chains are not yet for sale but feel free to let me know if you're interested.
