New Skate Product, Okozo -

What's in the bag?

We're not the most fashion aware...

And that's part of the reason Vandem has always been 100% hard goods.

Skateboards, in all their beautiful shapes and sizes, and everything you need to get it feeling right for you.

But taking a board travelling? It's part of the lifestyle...

...and its kind of inconvenient!

So we've stepped out of our comfort zone to bring you a solution.

Okozo backpacks are a high-quality option for bring your board on a train, plane or simply round town without the hassle of lugging it under your arm.

Bristol local Charlie of easypeelers.photos has had one for a while and was gracious enough to come and film an insight for us:

The basics are as follows:

  • Longboard backpacks for boards up to 42"
  • Dancer backpacks for boards up to 49" (!)
There's loads of space for your pads, lunch, water, clothes, general gubbins alongside the board itself.
  • S1 bags are made of recycled marine plastic
  • X1 bags are made of high performance sailcloth

Both are tough, but the X1 is tougher.

They're nicely thought out. Both the bottom and top of the bags unfold meaning they close down to a bag that - considering it fits a longboard inside - isn't all that bulky, and a tough plastic layer inside protects the fabric further from griptape scrapes.

Waterproof enough for very rainy days, but not to be used as a tow float.

A solid option for a big weekend backpack, whether you're taking your board or not.

But what's that, you heard something about a free Loaded board?

Well, it wasn't in the bag... but it is on the way. Among many other prizes.

Join us on the 8th September at the Bristol Board Meeting for a chance to win.

I'll see you then if not before,
Matt @ Vandem

The UK's longest running, most inclusive and most attended longboard event.
