Event Report: London Docks Games 3.0

It's more fun with friends...

Howdy all,

Danielle here reporting back from a jam-packed weekend at the London Docks Games 3.0!

The weather was roasting and the turnout was incredible with it being the biggest annual London event hosted by London Longboards and @docksessionuk.

If you’re reading this newsletter then you’re probably familiar with the magic that’s created when skating with friends and this event’s aim was to bring people together and have some fun. How often do we just get to play?!

All skating levels were welcome and the number of beginners taking part was a testament to the work that’s been put into the scene to make it inclusive and welcoming. For example, everyone was given a coloured wristband and beginners an extra white ribbon so judges knew to award double points for completing the same tricks.

The team at London longboards run some brilliant events from night skates to beginner slide sessions and everything in between. You can also find them every Sunday at the Dock Session (near the O2 in North Greenwich).

For anyone outside of London, check out our page of local longboard crews and you'll be rolling with friends in no time.

If there isn't one near you, start one and let us know! It might mean going old-school and chasing anyone with a board down and getting them to join you... all part of the fun.

If you're in Bristol - we're heading to Cheddar pumptrack next Thursday after work...

See you there,
Danielle & Matt @ Vandem

This even was focused on beginners, dancing and freestyle.
If that sounds remotely fun to you, our dancing board guide is a good place to start.
If it doesn't, check out our events calendar for other types of events coming up this summer!

Danielle was pretty stoked.
