Landyachtz Dinghy Fender Light Peak Cruiser Board

The Landyachtz Dinghy lineup expanded once again in 2024, this time bringing in this epic Light Peak graphic on the turbocharged Dinghy Fender.

The big difference from a classic Dinghy to the Dinghy Fender is the pressed wheel arches, or moulded wheel wells. The outline and size is the same, but these wheel arches allow bigger wheels to be used without risk of wheelbite.

Landyachtz make the most of this by throwing the 70mm Supreme Hawgs underneath - a big step up from the 63mm wheels that come on the other models!

If you want to do tricks, we suggest checking out a classic Dinghy to avoid the extra weight of the big wheels. However, if you're comfortable keeping your feet on the ground and want a bit of extra comfort for your carves, the Dinghy Fender could be the one for you.

The classic Dinghy shape has been a staple of the Landyachtz lineup for many years now. A truly well designed and executed mini-cruiser, the Dinghy is not the cheapest cruiser board that we sell, but there's a reason for that.

For a while now, longboards and skateboards have been very separate categories. We believe that the Dinghy was pretty much responsible for the blurring of those lines - cruiser boards are here to stay. Its one of the most popular, and for good reason.

If you can stop into our Bristol skate shop to check out one of these boards yourself, you'll immediately see what we're talking about. Landyachtz have done a great job with the Dinghy, and the moment you hold one in your hands or get one under your feet, you'll appreciate the component selection and overall product quality over the cheaper mini-cruiser brands.

Landyachtz design their Polar Bear trucks and Hawgs wheels to fit perfectly with each individual deck. They work tirelessly to ensure these elements come together to provide the best control and performance for your riding pleasure.

If you're after a mini-cruiser, you can't go wrong with a Dinghy - it'll be yer go to setup for a quick rip to the shops or shred around the local streets in no time.

For adults and skaters used to longboards, we recommend that you consider the Landyachtz Tugboat - a slightly bigger deck shape with a little more space for your feet.

How does the Landyachtz Dinghy Fender Light Peak compare?

The Dinghy is super popular for good reason... it's a great little board that works well for a lot of different skate situations.

If you're a beginner though, you might be better served by something a little bit bigger. A bigger board has more space for your feet, and will be easier to skate as you get the hang of pushing around the place.

Luckily, Landyachtz have you covered with that.... check out the Tugboat!

To all intents and purposes, the Tugboat is just a slightly wider, longer Dinghy. We actually think it's a better board for most skaters looking at a Dinghy - be sure to check it out!

Some other things to consider...

  • If in doubt - go softer! Turnier boards are easier to balance on, and a lot more fun to skate.
  • If you are "between hardnesses," we would recommend the softer option. So for example, for a 73kg rider, "Soft" rather than "Stock Setup" might be a better choice. Get in touch if you're not sure!
  • if you want a very turny board - say for a dancing longboard - then it's worth going one stop softer than you otherwise would do. Watch out for wheelbite though!
  • Likewise, if you want a board for downhill speed, then go up a step harder than the weight table suggests.
  • You do have a bit of adjustment in the truck's kingpin nut, but we would suggest that if you have more than two threads showing then it's time to go to a harder bushing.
  • If you already have a board (or some trucks!) and you would like to change your bushings to suit your weight, check out our truck/bushing compatability chart!

Speedy Compact Board

First time trying a Dinghy, It feels like a mini moped compared to my truck of a Tan Tien with 77A Cags on it. Well worth the price! Board delivered Next working day with custom bushings fitted for free bushings + keeping the OG bushings. Great Customer Service from Matt and the crew as always!
