Landyachtz, Surfskate, Videos -

The only Landyachtz board to ever be discounted... Why?

When is a surfskate not a surfskate?

Well, brace yourself.

According to a popular surfskate website:

I’m not a fan of Landyachtz surfskates at all. While it does pump and carve [...], it doesn’t function well at all.

Brutal. So bad they doubled up on the "at all".

But if it does pump and carve, that sounds like a functional little board to me...

They just aren't what someone looking for a surfskate wants to ride.

Landyachtz must have realised this because those guys never do sales or discount old stock.

But these are discounted, heavily, from the original RRP.

But the issue was not the board - it was the name.

I believe, had they brought these out and called them "Ultra Carve" as they did for the RKP Tugboats, they'd have been one of the most popular cruisers of the past few years.

With a steep RKP on the front and a TKP on the back, these are essentially split angle setups...

And if you've been paying attention then you'll know we think split angle setups are amazing.

They're definitely the easiest cruiser out there to pump. Whilst it may not pump from a standing start as is possible on a surfskate, it also does not have that top-end speed restriction that a surfskate does.

They're also a more useable ride-height than a lot of surfskates, so taking a few pushes to get going is much less of an issue.

Wicked little urban pumping machines, holiday boards, campus shredders. They almost need a new name or category to be fully understood. Pump-cruiser. Puiser? Doesn't sound great.

Regardless, we love ours for the post-office run.

Come and try it out - your feet will be the true judge of how functional it is, not something you've read on the internet.

Mind you, you're reading this on the internet...  Maybe it's better for us all to switch it off and go for a cruise.

See you out there,
Matt @ Vandem

Some Dinghys used to use this foamy soft griptape too, albeit around 10 years ago now.
It actually worked pretty well provided you weren't bailing too many flip tricks onto it - that did tear it up pretty quick.
