This is the Carver Triton 32" Prismal CX - that's a lot of words, let's break it down!
Carver - I think we're all comfortable with this one. The original surfskate trucks with their patented pivoting arm was the C7 and nothing came close to performing like it for years - decades.
Triton - Triton is a series of four boards heavily influenced by surfboard design, from 29" to 32", leading us nicely onto the next part...
32" - total length for this board. This is the longest in the Triton lineup and it just might be my go-to. The CX trucks (read on for more on those) really will turn on a dime under your feet. Just lean on that inside rail and surrender, it's a great feeling. With all that turning power, I (with size 11 feet) quite like that extra bit of platform and wheelbase. If you've got big feet or are quite tall or broad shouldered, this will likely be the one for you. If you're smaller, check out the lower end of the Triton range for something that may feel more natural under your feet.
Prismal - The name of the graphic for this board. As with the rest of the range, it's a white dipped top and bottom deck to resemble many a surfboard, and they've gone for a transparent overlay on the bottom, building colours up in layers just as one might with fibreglass. It's simple and sexy.
CX - This board features the Carver CX truck up front. Marketed as a hybrid truck that's able to both surfskate and skateskate. With less moving parts than the C7, it's easier to maintain (ie, you don't have to) and can take a bit more of a beating. If you're looking to take your surfskate into the skatepark and slash some copings, we definitely recommend this truck. It's sketchy as anything in fakie, but it is possible... can't say the same for the C7!
Proper griptape on this one which we do appreciate - you want your feet to hold on tight whilst you rip into turns. Otherwise, we can recommend reading our Carver C7 vs CX vs Landyachtz surfskate truck review if you're not 100% sure which one you might want.
The Triton Prismal is a classic among classics, perfect for flat days or for when your arms are supernoodled but you still have a yearning for turning. Thumbs up.
