This is the Carver Triton 30" Spectral CX - like it's bigger brother the Signal, there are a lot of words to this title - let's break it down!
Carver - I think we're all comfortable with this one. The original surfskate trucks with their patented pivoting arm was the C7 and nothing came close to performing like it for years - decades.
Triton - Triton is a series of four boards heavily influenced by surfboard design, from 29" to 32", leading us nicely onto the next part...
30" - total length for this board. The 2nd shortest of the series, so you can imagine this one turning super tightly. Whether you want to pump up to speed from standing, rip it round a bowl or generally get super low and slash some concrete cutbacks the compact shape will allow you to really explore your own limits. For slightly more stability and down-the-line speed, you might prefer the Spectrals bigger brother - the Triton 31" Signal.
Spectral - The name of the graphic for this board. Proper surfy - white dipped with a layover of translucent tints and even the griptape is cut out to look like a tail pad. The attention to detail is high with this one.
CX - This board features the Carver CX truck up front. Marketed as a hybrid truck that's able to both surfskate and skateskate. With less moving parts than the C7, it's easier to maintain (ie, you don't have to) and can take a bit more of a beating. If you're looking to take your surfskate into the skatepark and slash some copings, we definitely recommend this truck. It's sketchy as anything in fakie, but it is possible... can't say the same for the C7!
Proper griptape on this one which we do appreciate - you want your feet to hold on tight whilst you rip into turns. Otherwise, we can recommend reading our Carver C7 vs CX vs Landyachtz surfskate truck review if you're not 100% sure which one you might want.
The Triton Spectral is a great value way to venture into the world of surfskating, from the brand that started it all.
