This is the Carver Triton 31" Signal CX - that's a lot of words, let's break it down!
Carver - I think we're all comfortable with this one. The original surfskate trucks with their patented pivoting arm was the C7 and nothing came close to performing like it for years - decades.
Triton - Triton is a series of four boards heavily influenced by surfboard design, from 29" to 32", leading us nicely onto the next part...
31" - total length for this board. Our favourite of the series, sitting in a sweet spot that allows you to carve some seriously tight lines once you're used to it - you'll love the feeling of trusting your rail and leaning all your weight onto it, for the board to come back under your feet in a loving arc! Being slightly longer than some of the other offerings, there is also some extra stability and you can build up quite some speed with a bit more comfort and control, too.
Signal - The name of the graphic for this board. They've white-dipped the top deck to further enhance the surfboard feeling (though personally I do like a good resin tint!) and the graphic underneath is a transparent colour overlay in a nod to classic glassing style (yeah, tints!). Understated and elegant.
CX - This board features the Carver CX truck up front. Marketed as a hybrid truck that's able to both surfskate and skateskate. With less moving parts than the C7, it's easier to maintain (ie, you don't have to) and can take a bit more of a beating. If you're looking to take your surfskate into the skatepark and slash some copings, we definitely recommend this truck. It's sketchy as anything in fakie, but it is possible... can't say the same for the C7!
Proper griptape on this one which we do appreciate - you want your feet to hold on tight whilst you rip into turns. Otherwise, we can recommend reading our Carver C7 vs CX vs Landyachtz surfskate truck review if you're not 100% sure which one you might want.
The Triton Signal is a classic among classics, perfect for flat days or for when your arms are supernoodled but you still have a yearning for turning. Thumbs up.
