This is the Carver 32" Omni C5 surfskate, and whilst it may look like, well, a skateboard, it's a far cry from your average cruiser!
Part of the Carver Streetsurf Series at 32" long and 8.5" wide, the Omni deck is indeed a nice big skateboard - perfect for finding flow around the park and even lofting it into the air, without being so small that you feel any pressure to be pulling technical tricks. The extra length also allows for the wheelbase to be up at 15.625" - super comfy for surfskate trucks.
Equipped with Carver's C5 truck system - that's a C5 up front and a C4 in the back. The C5s are lower in ride height and narrower than its classic surf brothers. Your wheels stay firmly under your deck, you have a lower centre of gravity and the angle at which the tail hits the floor is in that sweet spot for good pop and balance in manuals.
When compared to the C7 or CX, they offer easier, higher ollies and great control in the skatepark.
And that is really what it's designed for - with the 95A Carver Black Park wheels, it won't be as smooth across town as other surfskates but it makes up for it when you get onto some smooth concrete. In the park the wheels are fast, grippy and will lock into grinds on the coping no problem.
If you're the kind of rider who wants to blend surf-style flow with technical park tricks, the Omni's got your name written all over it. Flowy carves, snappy ollies, grinds, slides... It's not just a surfskate and it's not just a skateboard - it's the best of both worlds.
