Amazing shop and staff. The WhatsApp ability to message them to get help is a game changer. Starting to skate again after 10 years with a new surf skate is so much fun but only because I got the right one via excellent customer support.

Lush Nomad Cruiser Board - HighRoller

The new full sized cruiser board from Lush Longboards, specced with way bigger wheels for more speed, grip and comfort.

The Nomad comes in at 30" long by 9.125" wide. In our opinion this is just about ideal for most adult sized skaters while still being much smaller than a full sized longboard.

This is the HighRoller version of the Nomad - a real monster truck of a cruiser board! 70mm+ wheels on a cruiser is pretty crazy but with the right setup, truck width, bushings and risers, it works a treat.

The massive wheels on the HighRoller are a fair whack bigger than the standard 55-65mm wheels you'll find on most cruisers. They'll have a higher top speed, tons of grip and feel all round smooooooth. A great choice if your commute features some questionable road surfaces like ours here in Bristol.

Any reasons you wouldn't want massive wheels on a cruiser, then? Well, they weigh more, and the higher ride height makes ollies/tricks feel a little strange at first. If you want to be jumping a lot, a 65mm wheel would be an advantage. To get up a curb on this one, I tend to use the old "one two" - wheelie the front up then get my foot on the nose to lever the back up.

Rather than just cut a cruiser shape out of a skateboard like a lot of the other options available, the team at Lush decided to start from scratch. The concave is more mellow, the tail is full-sized and functional, and there is no nose at all.

Cruisey concave keeps it comfortable under your feet for a day of rolling around, and a nose isn't really important for cruising. Without one, the comfy concave carries on all the way to the front of the board and you've got a roomier standing platform.

Keeping thing compact means it's super easy to carry about when hopping on the bus or tube and convenient to stash under a desk when you rock up to work.

These beauties are pre gripped and built ready to rip right out of the box.

We've got two setups available here, the Elite and Pro.

Lush Nomad Cruiser Board - HighRoller: Elite Complete Spec

A whole lot of performance in a pint-sized package - the narrow trucks keep you agile and the overall track width in line with the deck, the Cultrons will roll over just about anything and the bearings are long lasting and easy to clean. Attention to detail, second to none!

Lush Nomad Cruiser Board - HighRoller: Pro Complete Spec

A little more affordable than the Elite setup, the Nomad Pro is still stacked out with aftermarket parts, selected to give the best possible performance for a little less cash.

Is the Elite setup worth the extra £30?

For only an extra £30, you can upgrade the "Pro" setup to the "Elite" Level build.

The Elite setup is a pretty heavy wheel and bearing upgrade over the Pro.

You get Lush Longboards Easy Rider Bearings - fully shielded, easy to clean, with built in bearing spacers. They roll faster and last longer than the Pro level metal shielded ABEC5 bearings.

The Elite complete also includes Cult Cultron 74mm Longboard Wheels White, poured from a higher grade urethane. Premium urethane rolls fater, lasts longer, and generally injects a whole new level of life into the board - once you've skated decent wheels, you won't want anything else!

Less obvious is the wheel upgrade. Your extra £30 gets you a set of Cult Cultron over the Pro build's Lush Smoothie. Apart from the obvious size difference, the Cult Cultron are poured from a higher grade of urethane - an invisible difference that you will immediately notice as soon as you push the board off.

Just like the bearings, the wheel upgrade makes your board roll faster and last longer - what's not to like??

If you look at the SRP difference of these components and add them together you'll see that the upgrade from Pro to Elite represents serious value - trust us, it's well worth it.

Coupled with this, we've noticed that almost everyone who makes it into our shop ends up with an Elite setup - the value is clear once you have the board in your hands!
