Loaded Chinchiller Short Longboard
The Loaded Chinchiller - a symmetrical 34" carving and pumping longboard... and so much more.
Was it named for their OG Loaded rider Kyle Chin, and the fact that its a great board for chillin'?
Well... It's a little known fact that it was actually a nod to their longtime friends at Vandem Longboard Shop. After all, in Bristol, there's no such thing as a chinchilla, only chinchillerrrs. Me lover.
As usual we have a few different setup options available to suit your riding style and budget. With a short longboard like the Chinchiller, it leaves a lot of room for interpretation - it can be used as a cruiser, a commuter, a freestyle board, there's no doubt it's a joy to carve and it'll even freeride.
What you plan to do with it will change which setup would work best. We've put these together to offer the most fun for the best value.
The board itself: a nippy 34" x 8.5", some skateboards are this big (the Arbor Crosscut for example), so this is not a huge longboard! It's compact and nimble, an all-round longboard cruiser to get round town taking advantage of every obstacle along the way.
Yet, similar in stature to a big skateboard, it's a wildly different animal. The wheelbase is much longer at 21" which lends itself to stability, smooth back-to-back pumping and deep carves.
The mild rocker and concave will keep your feet planted through said carves - and they've even added subtle wheel arches to further lock you in. You'll never need to look down, and it means you can ride some pretty big wheels without risking wheelbite too.
The kicks are small but functional for everyday life. They don't look to impress or to hinder, but to entice you into adding freestyle and freeride spice to your routine.
Loaded are known for diving deep into their constructions and the Chinchiller is no exception: Bio epoxy resin, a v-lam bamboo core sandwiched between triaxial fibreglass layers and finished with a snowboard-style nylon top and bottom sheet. It all comes together to create a subtle flex - it keeps the ride super smooth, whilst not being so bouncy that your trickery gets wobberly.
Comes with epic colourful Loaded griptape and digital art graphic by Toni Lopez and Zara Casellanos from Barcelona.

The top of the food chain. If you want to really see how well this board can carve and pump, this is where you belong. The trucks are the Sabre Forged Mk3, 150mm wide, 48 degree baseplate angle. There simply isn't another truck out there thats this precise, this strong, this light, nor feels so good to rip back and forth. The wheels are as fast as it gets, with grip levels unsurpassed by imitators. That means you'll be pulling more speed out of every carve, with more control, and having more fun. Throw some top quality built-in bearings to keep everything running true and you've got a setup thats so solid you can leave to your grandchildren in your will. The Elite complete is where most people will find the most affordable way to have the most fun possible. In life. The Paris 150mm trucks are oh-so-bouncy and are what Loaded themselves go for. They make for a lively Chinchiller that, when running on the legendary Cult Chronicles, make for a board that will cruise super comfortably around town and truly embrace any freeride and freestyle trickery that crosses your mind. It doesn't have to… but it's ready when you are. Loaded Chinchiller Short Longboard: Pro Complete Spec
Keen for some Chinchillin' but can't break the bank right now? We feel you, so we've put together this Pro complete. The Sabre Street trucks make for a surfy and divey setup that'll even allow you to Chinchill your way round the local skatepark as the mood takes you. Round town they're agile and fun, but if you're looking to go really fast we do recommend RKP trucks as found on the Elite and Precision setups. Vandem Value bearings are tucked inside some 60mm Cult Novas - a wheel ready for cruisin', pumptrackin', freestylin' and even gettin' sideways. Is the Elite setup worth the extra £30?
For only an extra £30, you can upgrade the "Pro" setup to the "Elite" Level build.
The Elite setup is a pretty heavy wheel and bearing upgrade over the Pro.
You get Sabre Built-In Labyrinth Bearings - fully shielded, easy to clean, with built in bearing spacers. They roll faster and last longer than the Pro level metal shielded ABEC5 bearings.
The Elite complete also includes Cult Chronicle 65mm Longboard Wheels White (Stoneground), poured from a higher grade urethane. Premium urethane rolls fater, lasts longer, and generally injects a whole new level of life into the board - once you've skated decent wheels, you won't want anything else!
Less obvious is the wheel upgrade. Your extra £30 gets you a set of Cult Chronicle over the Pro build's Cult Nova. Apart from the obvious size difference, the Cult Chronicle are poured from a higher grade of urethane - an invisible difference that you will immediately notice as soon as you push the board off.
Just like the bearings, the wheel upgrade makes your board roll faster and last longer - what's not to like??
If you look at the SRP difference of these components and add them together you'll see that the upgrade from Pro to Elite represents serious value - trust us, it's well worth it.
Coupled with this, we've noticed that almost everyone who makes it into our shop ends up with an Elite setup - the value is clear once you have the board in your hands!
How about the Precision build?
If you're ready to skate the best setup out there the best of the best, step it up to the Precison Build!
For an extra £130, you get a wheel upgarde to a set of super fast Cult Invader 66mm Longboard Wheels White, adding even more roll speed. Bearings are the same as the Elite build, but with a set of Sabre Forged Precision Mk3s.
Given that a set of these trucks would normally set you back £180, that's a serious value for a serious setup!

Some other things to consider...
- If in doubt - go softer! Turnier boards are easier to balance on, and a lot more fun to skate.
- If you are "between hardnesses," we would recommend the softer option. So for example, for a 73kg rider, "Soft" rather than "Stock Setup" might be a better choice. Get in touch if you're not sure!
- if you want a very turny board - say for a dancing longboard - then it's worth going one stop softer than you otherwise would do. Watch out for wheelbite though!
- Likewise, if you want a board for downhill speed, then go up a step harder than the weight table suggests.
- You do have a bit of adjustment in the truck's kingpin nut, but we would suggest that if you have more than two threads showing then it's time to go to a harder bushing.
