The Kai Lenny Lava 31" from Carver and the man himself - mid-size in length, large in stature with the "Hyperspoon" mould offering a deep dish spoon in the nose to lock in that front foot while you whip this thing round.
That concave makes this board everything you'd expect from a Kai Lenny model - high performance, full commitment, no corners cut.
The 17" wheelbase is just short enough to get your turn radius down to a minimum - it'll turn 360 in a car park space - but long enough that if you want to pump it hard up to speed, you can really fly. Think down the line at Jaws, but with more tarmac and less death.
Adorned in Kai's Lava graphic, the same as his massive quiver of surfboards, and he's definitely someone to emulate. Fit and healthy, frustratingly talented and hard-working to boot. The greatest waterman there is? Perhaps. But to go out on a limb here, the greatest surfskater he is not. Emulate as far as you like, but with a high-performance board like this I recommend building your own style and flow. Give it time, and Kai will want one of your pro-model Carvers for his collection!
Proper griptape on this one, definitely needed if you want to be getting radical.
Kai has a second, larger model available that comes in at 34" - great for bigger feet, building confidence and going fast. Check out the 34" Dragon if that sounds more like your deal!
An awesome way to subtly show your support for one of the greatest out there whilst owning one of the best surfskates there is. You won't grow out of this one - but hopefully you'll destroy it through years of solid use and sandy car boots.
