Arbor Pilsner 28.75" Artist Cruiser Board

The Arbor "Pilsner" shape is an awesome little mini cruiser skateboard that ticks all the boxes for a bit of commuting/transport/general razzing around.

At 28.75" x 8.125", the directional twin-tip deck has a lot more tail than nose, which for a cruiser is perfect.

The Pilsner can be ollied no problem, so it makes a great little pub or college board.

The thing that really sets the Arbor mini cruisers apart from other brands cruiser boards are the trucks. Paris Street Trucks are quality cruiser trucks with a decent geometry and good bushings - which translates to a nice turn, perfect for this kind of board.

At 129mm wide these trucks are responsive and the perfect match for the deck.

The Pilsner rolls on Arbor's own Easyrider Bogart 61mm 78a wheels, which are about what you would expect on a board like this, but poured from a nice fast urethane with Arbor's "Momentum" core.

Finished off with a die cut grip tape job to show off the Arbor top sheet logo graphic and Arbor's own brand ABEC5 bearings. This is a functional and classy ride without a doubt!

How does the Arbor Pilsner 28.75" Artist compare?

The Pilsner is a great little cruiser board, especially at this price - but how does it stack up against the benchmark Landyachtz Dinghy?

The Landyachtz offering is a lot more expensive. But there's a few things that set it apart from the Pilsner and, depending on your needs, may be more suitable.

First up, the similarities: both Arbor and Landychtz have specced decent trucks, wheels and bearings. The Landyachtz with Hawgs wheels and Bear Trucks and bearings, and Arbor with their own branded wheels and Paris trucks. Both boards are quality setups!

Board size is where things start to vary. Both the Arbor and the Landyachtz are about the same length - but the Dinghy is a little wider, making it more suitable for those with bigger feet and new skaters.

The Dinghy also has a more pronounced nose and a shorter wheelbase than the Pilsner, which will make the board immediately more familiar to those with some regular skateboard experience.

The real kicker is the griptape though. On a board this small, the proper griptape on the Dinghy is very welcome, whilst the clear spray on grip of the Arbor isn't as long-lasting or as grippy. It does show off that wood topsheet though!

The narrower width and clear grip make the Arbor fine for smaller skaters and great if you're just cruising about... but for a true all-rounder, or if you're just starting out, the Dinghy and slightly wider Dinghy Blunt range is denfiitely worth considering!
