Topmount Longboard Decks

A topmount longboard deck mounts the trucks in the regular way. Unlike a drop-through deck, the baseplate just sits straight onto the deck or riser.

Depending on what you are setting your board up to acheive, topmounts can be a little less forgiving than drop-throughs. You'll have more grip, a "surfier" turn and snappier slide. As the deck is usually a little higher than a drop-through, pushing and footbraking can be a little harder, and you'll want to balance your wheel size, riser and truck tighness carefully to avoid wheelbite.
