The Gen 6 Grizzly from Bear Trucks builds on 5 previous iterations of trucks, each having carved a million times and brought joy to thousands of riders!
Just like Sunday cyclists benefitting from all the R&D that goes into winning the Tour de France, Bear Trucks have spent years chasing performance, function and marginal gains in high-end downhill and freeride events. Everything they've learned has been incorporated into the Gen 6 cast truck, making them some of the strongest, functional and fun cast trucks available.
Game changing strength and highly refined steering geometry are just the tip of the iceberg.
The Gen 6 is designed around an insert (or plug) bushing. This is a little raised ring on the bottom bushing that fits snugly inside the hanger - it allows for a more open bushing seat by eliminating slop, leaving you with the best of both worlds. A truck that has amazing lean and turn, without any slop, for more control at any speed.
These 130mm 50° trucks are as narrow as a cast truck gets right now - perfect for super narrow decks, even for cruisers, or a budget new-school downhill setup.
For cruisers and longboards, grab 2 of them. However for going fast or pumping, you'll likely want to try the 50° up front and the 130mm 40° in the back. This brings the turning bias under the front foot, making it easier to pump to maintain speed, whilst adding stability for when things get a little faster.
In terms of customising these trucks to your weight and riding style, as well as long-term maintenace, we have a few options!
-
Bear Gen 6 Pivot Cups are available
- (If you have an old set of Bear trucks, grab the Bear Vintage Pivot Cups instead!)
-
Venom HPF Plug bushings are the closest insert bushing to fitting.
- The plug on these is actually slightly too tall - we recommend giving it a rub on your griptape (outside) until its the perfect height!
- Alternatively, you could use a Sabre Carve kit but use one durometer harder than usual to make up for the lack of insert.
This is the truck Landyachtz use on a lot of their longboard completes and for good reason. It's a solid well performing truck built to a high spec that you can trust.
