I’ve bought a couple of boards and various wheels, bearings and bits from Vandem in the last nine months and they’ve been absolutely brilliant every time. Arbor Fish 37" Bamboo 2024 Pintail Longboard

Arbor's smaller pintail, the Fish is a skinny 8.375" wide and 37" long. It actually feels smaller than this as it's a pintail. Of all the Arbor boards, this is probably where we'd direct beginners first.

If you're after a compact pintail, this is definitely a looker! A Bamboo top ply with Arbor's Recycled Re-Grit looks super nice, and the graphic is crispy and on point. 

Arbor have managed to squeeze a 26" wheelbase into this deck - so whilst it has no real nose or tail to speak of, it carves and turns like a much bigger board.

Paris V2 trucks, Arbor's own Mosh 65mm 78a wheels and ABEC7 bearings make a huge difference to the boardfeel compared to a cheaper complete, pick one up and you can immediately see where you money is going.

If you're after a small and more portable board that carves nicely, this is definitely a good place to start.

Finished on top with recycled glass spray on griptape.

    How does the Arbor Fish 37" Bamboo 2024 compare?

    We like the Arbor Fish - but it's quite a narrow board for a lot of skaters, especially beginners.

    While this works for smaller feet, if you're after the confidence a bigger board can bring, it might be worth looking elsewhere. For a few quid more it might be worth considering a Lush board that's a close size match - the Lush Minnow.

    Featuring a fuller shape and a mellow rocker concave, the Minnow has a bit more space for your feet that the Arbor - something beginners especially will really appreciate.

    The Minnow also doesn't have what we consider to be a shortcoming of a lot of Arbor boards - the clear spray on Griptape.

    Arbor griptape does look nice, but it wears out pretty quick and it's difficult to re-grip. Arbor boards tend to be quite narrow with a very mild concave, so once the grip has gone there's not a lot of foot security at all.

    With a choice of wheels and trucks, you can customise the Minnow to suit your style and budget. Like the Arbor there's a couple of graphics to choose from too!
