Late to the party?
Aren't the cool people always?
Fact is, we hadn't had our feet on the Waterborne Surfskate Rail Adaptors until recently, and:
- We always want to experience product before recommending it
- It's tough to write a newsletter about something you've never skated!

You're probably thinking it, so I'll say it: They look kinda kooky.
They exist to transform whatever board you've got - longboard, skateboard, cruiser - into a surfskate, sitting between your deck and trucks.
But bopping around on some, I have to say I was pretty stoked.
I'm really not a fan of surf-inspired marketing of surfskates - it's a lie.
This begins in me a bitterness at the hypocritical and self-destructive nature of the consumerist world we live in, which then clouds my vision of the fact that actually, they're simply fun to ride in their own right.

And these Waterborne setups really are fun to ride.
Something like a Carver C7 feeling under the front foot, yet without that opportunity to turn yourself upside-down with bad foot placement, and a much more smooth and flowy interaction between the front and back foot.
Essentially, my favourite aspects of the C7 and the CX rolled into one.
That was on TKP trucks on a fairly short board - but the beauty of the Waterbornes is that they'll go on whatever you've got. Long or short, TKP or RKP, it's all fair game.
To quote Rich when they arrived with us: "I am actually very impressed with this. They are well packaged, good value, and very nerdy."
Sounds like something that fits right in with our shop, so here they are:
Waterborne Surf Skate Rail Adaptor Kit
And now I'm going to go and do my own surf adapting: getting up from this chair and into a wetsuit!
Enjoy the swell and the sun while it lasts,
Matt @ Vandem

The "Fin System" is actually a little wedge that changes the angle of the front truck adaptor by +/- 5°. Choose from "Mega Pump", "Super Carve" or just... standard.
Which also pumps and carves pretty insane.

The bushings in the back "rail adapter" can also be changed to set the ride up exactly to your preference - any regular sized longboard bushing will go in with no problem.
