The deck has a comfy concave and gentle rocker - a hug for your feet from all directions, so you always know you're standing in the right spot.
Drop-through truck mounting makes the board lower to the ground for a myriad of benefits: a lower centre of gravity is inherently more stable than a higher one, plus it takes less effort to push and footbrake. The carving feeling is relaxed and cruisey, and for those looking to slide will find the lower platform makes initiating slides that bit more forgiving.
All this, plus split angle trucks make this an absolutely perfect board for beginners. When you lean, the board simply follows, catching your weight and making for a smooth turn. The added stability means speed wobbles should be a non-issue - or at least, you're going to have to go pretty fast to make them one!
The difference between this and a symmetrically set up drop-through really is night and day. Whether its pushing, pumping, cruising, carving, sliding or going downhill you'll immediately feel the benefit of a split angle truckset. Unless you ride backwards a lot - more common in freeride sliding or dancing/freestyle - there is no reason not to choose this one.
