Longboard Scene and Events -

It's getting darker, but skate events roll on!

Contrary to popular belief...

We do have more than one good hill on these islands.

We certainly have more than one good downhill skater on them, too.

And on the 19th-20th October, they will make this heavenly pilgramage once more this year in a celebration of all things downhill skateboarding in 2024:

Presented by Thrill Magazine, it's a weekend of skateboarding, pizza and the best British longboard media of 2024.

Have you filmed something this year - something you'd like to share? Go on! Here's the submission form.

It'll be shown up against never-seen-before footage of:

  • Bumpy Hales on his new Rocket pro model
  • Rizla + Ritalin on tour in Europe
  • Djerba Trucks in Portugal
  • Classic footage filmed in Wales
Camping is an option - if you don't fancy that, you'll want to book your spot in the hostel sooner rather than later!

The early birds among you can skate in company every 7am at Victoria Park skatepark...

...the night owls just have time to get down to Trenchard Street car park in your gladrags for the Disco Skate!

There's another surfskate meetup happening, as well as a Christmas session on the 15th December.

And for those of you who would simply appreciate a warm, dry spot to roll about, there's a hall been rented every Tuesday evening for exactly that - tickets available here.

Bookmark our events page for up to date info on all these and more.

I recommend having some dinner before the Christmas session. In 2009 I hadn't thought of that... we had a fun race down the multistory and I gave it all I had to ensure I got my hands on the prize: mince pies!

Now to settle in and enjoy my weekend - not that writing to you isn't enjoyable, of course,
Matt @ Vandem

Back by popular demand, one more time in 2024!
This one I wanted. Such good memories of yamming 6 mince pies straight down my throat, surrounded by good mates, the smell of mulled wine and the honk of wheels sliding on cold concrete. Ahhh skateboarding.
