The Bristol Board Meeting is always a special day - the feeling of pulling up to Bristol on the train and seeing another person with a longboard at the station, then another, then another...
But there was something in the air this year that felt that bit extra.
There is a buzz around longboarding in the UK that I haven't felt for a long time - a level of activity across the country that reminds me of the late 2000s.
That activity starts with accessible, friendly, approachable and fun events like this, and it takes a village to raise a skate scene.
Certain brands rise up year after year to support this and other events, to bring new product to the table, thus ensuring that longboarders of today and tomorrow have all the gear and support they need.
It may not be what you ride every day, but without these brands and the teams of people behind them we simply wouldn't be where we are today. And where we are is awesome. Check them out if you're ever in the market for something new:
