Amazing place! Friendly customer service and friendly people.  Helped me kit out some new boards for my son and I. I highly recommend them!

Loaded Icarus Drop Through Deck

The Loaded Icarus is all about carving. Loaded have been making carve boards for quite a few years now, and you can see all of their accumulated knowledge in this, their latest creation.

Featuring a fibreglass, bamboo and cork construction, the Icarus is pressed into a pretty funky 3D concave shape for maximum wheel clearance, a variable flex pattern, and awesome foot feel.

Like it's Sama, Dervish and Vanguard predecessors, the Loaded Icarus has a relatively long wheelbase for it's overall length. We like longer wheelbases here at Vandem, they just have a more soulful carving feeling compared to the shorter wheelbases on most of today's mini-cruisers and shorter longboards. As the trucks are close to the nose and tail, the Icarus is just about short and light enough to carry around when you're not skating it.

Although it's not the primary purpose of the Icarus, dancing, flips and shuvits are possible on this deck thanks to the small nose and tail kicks. As an all-round cruiser/carver/pumper, it's a very versatile deck.

The Icarus is available in two flex options. Get in touch if you're not sure which one is right for you and we'll do our best to help you out!

Please note that this deck will not fit Sabre, Holey and Randal Trucks dropped-through. You can still topmount them if you want...

Love it for smooth cruising, carving and pumping

Love this board. Was a little hesitant to spend so much but eventually couldn't resist. Guess this level of technology costs but you can certainly feel it when riding. 80mm Kegel wheels (80a), Paris v3 trucks (180) and that springy, curvy board... great combination. I'm 6ft tall, 83Kg (~180lb) with UK size 10 feet (EU 44) - I went for Flex 2 and would do again. Super easy to pump so on flat and very shallow up-hills I can keep moving along without pushing. Up, down and over the flat land it's very stable and with the flex in the board and the large wheels it rolls smoothly and comfortably over just about anything... surprisingly large cracks and pebbles pose little concern. OK, to qualify: I'm not into tricks so can't comment on those small tail/nose 'platforms' - I can lift the nose with them for larger cracks if necessary so guess someone with more skill could perform tricks if they're determined. I don't bomb hills at any great speed, preferring to nicely carve my way down in a snow-board like fashion... it does that very well. I also can't make the thing slide... I'm only just trying to learn and I gather this is not the best set-up for sliding anyway but those Kegels grip forever. Overall though, I repeat - I love this board... it's become my go-to board and no matter how much I like my other boards, this one brings the biggest smile every time.

Great Board

First longboard and it's working great for me so far. Flex feels really good when carving - really smooth to cruise around and dance on.
