What an epic company - really knowledgeable and genuine. Adam is a legend. I'm new to the skating world but he gave me loads of great advice and I'm so so happy with the Lush Nomad board. Plastic free packaging as well which is amazing. Would give 6 stars if I could! 👊

Lush Longboards Freebyrd Lo-Pro Woodgrain

The new Freebyrd LoPro is a lower version of the timeless Lush Freebyrd - now pressed with rocker for an even lower ride height and a more comfortable ride!

The Freebyrd is a drop-through cruiser offering from Lush Longboards, built low for an easy push and footbrake. A great start to longboarding from the original UK longboard brand - you can't go wrong with this for a first setup.

A drop-through truck mount makes this board nice and low, which translates to easy pushing and footbraking - both essential skills. A rockered maple deck gives a lively flex, and a mellow concave is comfortable underfoot whilst giving you just enough grip for the odd slide or two.

The complete turns on Sabre trucks (either Forged or Cast, depending on your choice of setup) for a surfy, smooth setup. A great place to start out longboarding!

The Elite Complete is a premium cruising/carving setup, with aftermarket Sabre "Standard" 180mm longboard trucks . Fast, plush "Cultron" Wheels by Cult are some of the fastest race wheels on the market, with enough grip, speed and control, and the whole thing is rolling on smooth Sabre Trucks Built-In Labyrinth Bearings.

The Pro Complete is also built with "Standard" 180mm longboard trucks  and Cult Emperor Wheels. Sabre Hardware and Vandem Value ABEC5 bearings finish it off. This is probably the best value board we sell in our whole shop, with decent trucks that turn really well and fast aftermarket wheels.

The coolest way to travel

I'm so glad I did my research and bought a board from these folks. I've been telling myself I'll get a longboard 'one day' for 20 years and finally ran out of excuses recently. The Freebyrd woodgrain is a beautiful-looking board and the hardware that comes with it is top notch. As a newcomer to longboarding I perhaps didn't need to go with the 'elite' spec, particularly as the Cultron wheels don't lend themselves to learning to slide. But all I needed to rectify this was to contact Vandem on WhatsApp and got a recommendation of the Cult Chronicles and all is good. Yes I spent a bit more to get the setup right, but having waited so long for one of these it's become a passion project. And having been able to cruise around making the most of the Indian summer I can wholeheartedly say it's been worth every penny. Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention the epic delivery. The board got to me in less than 24 hours, which is damn impressive. These guys know their stuff and know what service means, so all I'll say is 62 people and counting can't be wrong!

Great service, great board

I only came back to skateboarding very recently and started with a fairly cheap board... it was only when I got this board that I realised how big the gap in quality is. If I pick this board up and give one of the wheels a spin, it keeps going, and going, and going....unlike the other board. The ride? Very smooth, with the large wheels easily managing much of what London pavements could chuck at it (and me!). I'm not so bothered about the visual side, but it is a very nice looking board. It came with the trucks pretty tight - which was exactly what I needed to start with - and as I'm getting more experience I'm gradually loosening them a bit at a time for better turning Service was excellent - my chat with Adam over the phone was very helpful, not least because when I mentioned wanting a board for land paddling, Adam was completely upfront and said he'd no experience of that. No sales ********, just honestly given information where he had it and being clear where he didn't. That sort of thing builds confidence for me that I'm dealing with people who can be relied on. Finally - delivery was very fast in good secure packaging, and no plastic, which is important to me. Thank you.

Perfect for Beginners!

I've never skateboarded/longboarded before, but after being inspired by a friend I decided I would give it a go, as I was looking for a new hobby that would get me out of the house. This board is not only beautiful but also feels super stable and easy to ride. I've had it less than a week and I already feel super comfortable on the board, and I'm hoping to start learning a few basic tricks in the near future. It does seem like a lot to spend on your first board if you are new to longboarding, but it really is worth every penny!

Lush Longboards Freebyrd Lo-Pro Woodgrain - I love this board...

This is now the 3rd longboard I have bought from Vandem (as part of my collection) - as always - great advice, spot-on delivery times, and quality to die for... If you want the best board for your needs & want solid advice from guys who know & care about skating & customer service - buy from here. 110% recommended every single time !! Thanks, Vandam !!

Lush freebyrd

Total novice to longboarding so did a lot of research before buying. Really happy with my board, it’s low to the ground and feels steady but has nice flexibility - swapped out the bushings for a softer set which feels more comfortable for me. After a few weeks it feels like it’s really breaking in nicely (and is sounding less squeaky). Really enjoyable to ride. Great customer service - Matt phoned me to check an issue with my order. Have already recommended Vandem to loads of people

Lush Longboards Freebyrd Lo-Pro Woodgrain: FAQ's

Q: How does the Freebyrd compare to the Mindless Wreather?

It's quite a different board to be honest - the Lush Freebyrd is flexier and lighter, as it's designed more as a cruiser/carver than a freestyle board like the Mindless Wreather. With its mini-kicks and stiffer flex, the Mindless longboard is closer to something like the Lush Symbian 3D or the Loaded Tan Tien. Check them out if that's what you're after!

Q: What's a drop-through truck?

See how the truck is mounted "through" the deck? This lowers the deck height, creating stability and making the board lower to the ground. These two things make the board nicer to push and footbrake, and they also makes slides more controllable if you want to do any of that/ For just cruising and carving about though, drop-through trucks are ideal.
