You can cruise it, pump it, carve it, turn it round tight corners, and yet still have more stability than a comparable board with symmetrical trucks on.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is really no sense in buying any other pintails on the market right now! Pantheon developed the crescent drop, which instead of being a straight line across the board is bordering on a semi-circle. In the centre of the board the drop is closer to your foot, and it recedes back towards the shoulders of the deck. This shape makes it stiffer and stronger, as well as offering your foot a more precise marker for exactly where it is on the board. All regular advantages of drop-down decks still apply - a lower centre of gravity for stability, easier pushing and braking and super forgiving initiation of slides.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eConcave-wise, it's a gentle radial concave. It's not trying to be something it isn't - for a board designed for distance you don't want too many features under foot. However when paired with the \"moustache rocker\" (rocker at the front and back of the board, and a light camber in the centre) you'll really feel locked in for pushing regular and mongo as well as always being right in the pocket for deep carves and slides.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe construction:\u003c\/strong\u003e A step up from your regular maple board, the Trip features 6 plies of maple sandwiched between fibreglass, this one with a carbon bottom sheet that saves weight and adds pop. Because sometimes when you've been pushing all day your legs aren't as precise as they might be. The big platform offers amazing stability and even with jelly legs, your feet will land right back on it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA light flex is a great thing for a distance board. Too stiff, and all the rough asphalt is getting translated straight into your feet. Too much of that can actually be a medical issue - \"white foot\" can happen when all the blood is essentially vibrated out of your feet, at which point you have to stop skating to let it drain back in. Absolutely no good - but no problem with the Quest.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e7 plies of maple sandwiched between triaxial fibreglass and veneer makes for a super strong and long-lasting deck that still allows a little dampening for your comfort.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe drops are mellower than those on the Nexus - if you're looking to freeride and slide, the Nexus drops better allow you to put your weight into them during slides. It's super fun, and it uses different muscles to pushing meaning that long day out on a board simply breezes by.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt the back you have two options - the rear-most being a -17 degree wedge. If you take 17 degrees off your back truck (and typically Pantheon recommends a lower degree such as a 40 or 43 on the back) you're getting way down towards 20 degrees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat means its super stable - the back truck is just following along more how a car or lorry handles. You can push as hard as you like, even with the wobbly front truck, and you'll be solid as a rock. If you take 17 degrees off your back truck (and typically Pantheon recommends a lower degree such as a 40 or 43 on the back) you're getting way down towards 20 degrees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat means its super stable - the back truck is just following along more how a car or lorry handles. You can push as hard as you like, even with the wobbly front truck, and you'll be solid as a rock.
