These days things have moved on a bit, and with it's smaller \"slalom\" core and mass of unsupported urethane, this isn't the grippiest wheel going anymore. However, the smaller core provides a very plush ride compared with new-school bigger cored wheels, making the In Heat an ideal longboard cruiser wheel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is definitely a grippier, rollier wheel than the 4President. Sharp lips and a wider 56mm contact patch, combined with all that unsupported urethane, gives a very plush and smooth ride that;s only really matched by the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/vandemlongboardshop.co.uk\/products\/orangatang-caguama-wheels-85mm\"\u003e85mm Caguama \u003c\/a\u003efor comfort, despite being 10mm smaller.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey're heavy too - not so great for sliding, but very cool for the \"steamroller\" effect if that's what you're into.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAvailable in three duros:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e77A (Blue). Orangatang's new Blue 77A isn't the fastest, but it's really given this wheel a new lease of life. At 77A the In Heat gives a crazy smooth ride and has enough grip for most things. Definitely a good shout if you want the feeling of a Caguama but you can't fit 85mm of wheel on your board.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e80A (Orange). The timeless classic grip wheel, now it's a slightly faster alternative big cruiser wheel to the Blue 77A. Maybe better if you're a heavier skater.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e83A (Purple). At the harder duro the In Heat has a good bit of support and rolls relatively quickly, but it's still not a great choice for rougher surfaces. Something of a specialist choice, but if it's what you're looking for then go for it.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur experience with Orangatang grip wheels (the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/vandemlongboardshop.co.uk\/products\/orangatang-4president-wheels-70mm\"\u003e4President\u003c\/a\u003e, In Heat and \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/vandemlongboardshop.co.uk\/products\/orangatang-kegel-wheels-80mm\"\u003eKegel\u003c\/a\u003e) is that Orangatang's \"Happy\" urethane isn't the greatest for maximum grip - all the grip comes from the wheel shape and lips, and to be honest once those lips have gone there's not really a lot of grip to be had from these. Happy urethane is fast, plush and sugary, but it's not the most durable so it struggles to hold an edge for very long. That said, if your focus is more on cruising, the In Heat is a solid 75mm choice, with decent roll speed, lots of inertia and a super-plush ride.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe'd recommend these to skaters looking for the most amount of comfort available in a 75mm wheel - the smaller core makes them at least as smooth as the giant href=\"https:\/\/vandemlongboardshop.co.uk\/collections\/orangatang-wheels\"\u003eOrangatang's longboard wheels\u003c\/a\u003e, it's poured from \"Happy Thane,\" which is a sugary, fast rolling formula that leaves tons of 'thane all over the road if that's your thing.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eAt 70mm the 4President is a perfect \"medium\" sized longboard wheel for a lot of setups - fast enough to roll over the rougher stuff, and small and light enough to chuck around and not worry about wheelbite too much.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"font-weight: 400;\" data-mce-style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eThere are three duros available:\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e77A (Blue). This is a bit slower than the other two duros and won't last as long for sliding, but it is super plush and very grippy.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e80A (Orange). If you had to push us to pick a favourite we'd probably go with this one, we think the medium duro brings out the best in the wheel shape.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e83A (Purple). The fastest rolling of the three duros, it's also longer lasting and less grippy. Maybe a bit harsh for really rough surfaces, but still a great wheel for cruising about, especially if you are mostly inhabiting smooth roads and pavements.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLike a lot of Orangatang grip wheels, (which we would consider to be the 4President, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/vandemlongboardshop.co.uk\/products\/orangatang-in-heat-wheels-75mm\"\u003eIn Heat\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/vandemlongboardshop.co.uk\/products\/orangatang-kegel-wheels-80mm\"\u003eKegel\u003c\/a\u003e) those sharp lips don't last very long and the urethane isn't the grippiest out there - but these wheels are a hell of a lot of fun once you've broken them in. The geometry and shape of the wheel is very balanced even now, over a decade after they came out. With decreased diameter and weight compared to the real beasts like the 90mm Megawatt, 92mm Karma and beyond, these will feel lighter and quicker to get up to speed off the traffic lights, without sacrificing much of your momentum or top speeds.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHowever if covering miles is really your thing and you've got lots of smooth cycle paths and not too much slowing down\/sharp changing of direction, then the bigger wheels will likely offer a slightly better return on your effort.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSofter durometers will roll better over rougher terrain, harder durometers will be faster when its smooth - choose based on where you'll be skating them most!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's also worth noting that we've seen the softer ones \"chunk\" - pieces of lip breaking out over time when they've been carved hard on really rough asphalt. This is an unfortunate reality of massive soft wheels and not restricted to the Seismic urethane or brand.
